Raku is a Japanese method of firing, which requires that works be pulled out of the kiln once they have reached their maximum temperature, and placed in a closed container with combustible materials. Deprived of oxygen, dramatic colors and textures are pulled to the surface of the works. Cindy likes to experiment with geometric patterns and textures on her Raku works.
